5 Steps to Overhaul Your Style for the New Year

If you're the type of person who likes to start the year off with a fresh outlook and new goals, you probably already have the next 365 days mapped out. But what about your style? Are you going into the new year with the same clothes and style choices from years ago? Maybe you've not put a lot of thought into it. Or maybe you thought it was too hard and expensive to do a massive style overhaul.

If you answered mostly yes, then this post is for you. In life in general, even the smallest change can make the world of a difference, and your style is no different.  With a few style changes, adding a few key essentials, and getting rid of the crap that's wayy past their style expiration date, you can have better style.

Step 1
Get rid of everything that's either faded, has holes or no longer fits.

Step 2
The key to a successful style overhaul is having some basic pieces that can be mixed and matched and worn at different events. That's your basic bottoms, tops, outerwear like cardigans & blazers, dresses and a handful of shoes.

Steps 3
Wear old pieces with new. Most people won't remember that you wore the same skirt a few times this week if you wear it with different tops.

Step 4
Take at least a few minutes on your one of your less busy days at least once every week to plan a few outfits. That way you know what you what you ca\n wear ahead of time, so if you're in a rush, you don't have to settle for an oldie that's past its time.

Step 5
Add a few pieces to your wardrobe every month. Most of us regular girls can't buy everything we want all at once. But we can incrementally spend a few dollars here and there to add to our collection.
