Top 12 Spring/Summer '18 Trends & How to Make Them Work for You (Part II)

In last week's post, I gave you numbers 1-6 of the hottest trends for spring and summer 2018 and gave you some ideas on how you can make them work for you. Click here to read that post before you go any further.

This week we cover trends 7-12, and like every post, I'm showing you how you can make them work for your everyday life.

7. Rainbow - This is another one of my favs. It can be worn in place of the florals that we tend to go for around this time of year. It's simple to pull off and there are many different styles you can try. Go for a one piece or pair a rainbow bottom with a basic top.

8. Statement Straw Hat - As you know, straw hats come out around this time of year because it's vacation and beach season. I love the twist on this old necessity because extra details always spice up an outfit. Go for an option with embroidery or a scarf to elevate your look.
9. X-girl Sunnies - From Beyonce to all my favorite bloggers on IG, this trend has been all over my timeline and let me tell you it's not fainthearted. Even I am a little scared of this one, but I still plan on trying it. Because guess what, if we don't at least try these trends, we won't know if we'll love the way they look on.

10. Pastels - You should already know, but if you don't, there would not be a spring and summer season without pastels. The hues and colors vary from season to season, but you can never go wrong with wearing pastels around this time of year. Try pairing them together, or with white or neutrals if you don't want to do too much.

11. Power Shorts - The power short is not your plain old shorts from last season. This year's version is made from bold prints, and patterns and can be paired with matching sets of you want something more structured. Try pairing these shorts with basics or go for a bold look and try a co-ord for Sunday brunch.

12.  Bring the '80s back - I'm an '80s baby so, I'm into to this resurrection of trends from back then. From puffed sleeves to high-waisted skirts to wide-leg pants, this trend is super easy to pull off. If you want to see if this trend is right for you to try a wide-leg jeans with a blazer and cami for work for casual Friday.

Bonus
13.  Sportswear - I first saw this trend on the bad gyal herself, Rihanna, and since then it has completely blown up. This one is a little tricky because pairing the wrong pieces could have you looking cray in these streets. Try pairing sweats, with mules or creepers to see if you can rock this trend. If that's not enough for you, rep your favorite team with suitable sandals or pumps for a more dressy look.
