Five Must-haves Every Woman Should Have in Her Closet

If you want to stay ready to SLAY, anytime, any place, no matter the occasion, you've got to have some basic ready-to-wear pieces in your closet. Keep in mind, of course, you need to purchase the colors, shapes, patterns, prints, etc. that best suit your body and personality.

In today's post, I'm telling you about 6 things you need to add top your closet so you stay ready to SLAY.

One
Dresses - For day and evening. That's casual, semi-casual and formal wear. We are busy women with careers and a life, so with that comes invites to different events. Some are planned and some come up unexpectedly. You want to make sure you have at least a couple of these on-hand so you won't have to run around scrambling to find one when you really need it.
Two
Jeans - You need a couple of pairs of jeans that you can throw on with anything. Some days you have the time to create a look, and other days you don't. You'll need dark and light wash jeans that can be worn with different tops. So if you need to go somewhere and you don't have a lot of time, you can pair one with the right piece and still look like you put in a bit time and effort into your look.

Three
Skirts - Pencil skirts, maxi skirts, a-line skirts, etc. You should have at least one of each because each silhouette serves a different purpose and creates a different type of look. Some occasions call for one or the other, and you shouldn't be caught wearing the wrong one.
Four
Jewelry & Belts - You can have a really cute outfit, but sometimes the right jewelry and accessories can turn just cute into unforgettable. This is one of my favorite ways to announce my arrival without saying a word. I love me a good statement piece, and you should too!
Five
Handbags - Ladies, please understand that not all handbags are not created equal. You can't wear your big work tote to a dinner or to a formal event. And you can't wear your studded clutch to the office. They're both probably cute, but wearing them with the wrong outfit or at the wrong event will have you looking like you're confused about where you're going. Don't do that to yourself, sis.
Bonus

Six
Diverse Footwear Collection: Shoes, Sandals, etc. -  You have to have a good mix of these. Even if your budget only allows you to buy a few pairs, understand that wearing the right style of shoe is very very important. Do your best to have a few these in your collection. Casual footwear is often paired with casual outfits, and formal/dressy footwear is almost always paired with more formal looks. This one is best demonstrated with images so, take a look at the examples below.
